As menswear week drew to a close, we gathered on a rainy Saturday afternoon in the sumptuous apartment of French architect Auguste Perret to witness La Croisière, Jacquemus’ latest collection. In a departure from the usual spectacle-driven shows, this presentation was a masterful blend of intimacy and exclusivity—filmed entirely on an iPhone. With just 40 guests in attendance, the 41-look collection unfolded in a setting as refined as it was curated. This wasn’t just a show—it was a statement. A-list celebrities, including Tyla, Pamela Anderson, Central Cee, and Carla Bruni, added a layer of glamor to the already ultra-chic atmosphere.

Inspired by 1950s architecture, the silhouettes seamlessly blended sleek geometric shapes with sculptural forms, marrying lavish textiles with a more nuanced take on femininity. La Croisière explored the fantasy of a cruise, transporting audiences to a world where polka dots replace tartan and feathers have usurped fur. Jacquemus’ interpretation of ‘grande dame’ chic was both sophisticated and playful, offering a seamless fusion of maximalism and minimalism—two opposing forces that felt fresh and nostalgic in equal measure. As Simon put it: “This collection is really about enjoying it and playing with shapes—triangles, circles, squares—all the geometrical forms that define our world.”

The color palette was reserved yet dynamic—monochrome looks, animal prints, splashes of red, and sumptuous suede stood out in bold, unexpected ways. But beyond the clothes, this collection felt like a lifestyle: an invitation to romanticize life and, above all, a nod to the art of being chic.
Styling played a pivotal role in articulating the collection. Croc-embossed belts cinched the waists of both women’s dresses and men’s tailored trousers. Gloves were casually draped over bag handles, while kitten heels in hues of white, yellow, red, and black-and-white bi-color added another layer of sophistication.
As for the bags, Jacquemus expanded the color and material palette of its signature Turismo bag, now reimagined in a soft form with a knotted handle that spoke to effortless, on-the-go luxury. Bags were stacked, layered, and color-coordinated, while new pouches and clutches embraced richer textures and prints, further elevating the brand’s accessory offering. A new East-West bag was also introduced: the long, sumptuous clutch, ‘The Salon’ that could very well replace the Chiquito.
A standout moment came with the reveal of the upcoming Jacquemus x Nike collaboration, featuring the iconic Moon Shoe, a vintage low-top sneaker originally produced for the 1972 Olympics trials. “This collection was designed to introduce the brand to the American market for the first time,” explained Simon.

As the fashion industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace, it seems that intimate, small-scale presentations like this one may embody the true essence of luxury today. This latest collection stands as a testament to Jacquemus’ bold new direction—one that views the world as a playground for a consumer who is maturing, evolving, and growing.
