Lamia Dahmash & Mona Khartabil

Inherent style to the power of two – UAE-based Lamia Dahmash (known as Lulu) and her mother, Mona Khartabil, share a level of taste to take note of. While London College of fashion alumna Lulu’s preference is bold and directional, Mona’s elegance provides balance – her sense of fashion served as the initial inspiration to spark a career in styling and creative consultancy for her daughter, and is an ongoing influence. Here, Lamia discusses what Ramadan means to her:

I connect with my community by… coming together during Iftar for a special meal, sharing food, and fostering bonds. I also engage in charity work, giving back to the community in various ways to contribute positively.

Something non-negotiable during Ramadan is… fasting from dawn until sunset, which makes me feel grounded and spiritually connected.

One thing on my Level wishlist is… The red Heritage vinyl boots by Courrèges.

The best style tip is… to embrace your individuality and wear what makes you feel confident and comfortable.

The best style lesson I learned from my mum… is that it's important to dress authentically, and be yourself.

Zakia & Maitha

Rather than a case of opposites attracting, best friends and creators Zakia (@z4kiaa / @z4kiaaa) and Maitha (@mittth / @maittth) are equally obsessed by what’s chic and trending, each with her own eye for a impactful aesthetic moment. Just look at their socials, where Maitha is rightly “all about the fits” and Zakia welcomes new TikTok followers to her “slaynation”. Here, they share how they each make Ramadan memorable for themselves, and their families:

Zakia

I connect with my community by… coming together during Iftar for a special meal, sharing food, and fostering bonds. I also engage in charity work, giving back to the community in various ways to contribute positively.

I can’t leave home without… my bag and mini perfume, especially Oud.

One thing on my Level Shoes wishlist is… The gold patent Bunnie mules by Bottega Veneta, TDF!!

The best style tip for Ramadan and Eid is to… go all out, if not on dresses then go all out with your accessories, and have fun with your outfits.

Maitha

I connect with my community by… attending Iftars and Suhoors hosted by my friends and family – they're always full of good vibes, great food and amazing company.

Something non-negotiable during Ramadan is… my outfits and my very-extra Eid preparations.

I can’t leave home without… my bag, lip gloss, and sunglasses.

One thing on my Level Shoes wishlist is… The long white Le Bambino bag by Jacquemus.

The best style tip for Ramadan/Eid is… always accessorise, it takes a look from 0 to a 100
